More information about Schwollen
Schwollen has about 500 inhabitants and is situated 410 meters abvoe sea level (ASL). Schwollen is on the edge of the Hunsrueck and therefore offers good opportunities for long walks. This includes the newly created Sirona-trail, which runs in the immediate vicinity of our house.
The village itself has several commercial mineral water springs – one of the sources (called Sauerbrunnen) is open for the public. The local church Heiligenboesch – which is situated on the edge of the woods – was built on an old roman house. Underneath the church you can find a roman bath and can be visited by appointment only.
If you want to go out for a fancy dinner you will choose the Landgasthaus Boess. For a cozy breakfast at home you should not miss the bread and the rolls from our local bakery Hoffmann.
In the village you will find a playground with a slide, swings and a sandbox. In the summer months you can take a dip in the local outdoor swimming pool.
